Jaime   Abello   is   General   Director   and   co-founder   of   the   Gabo Foundation,  in  whose  creation  and  management  he worked  from  day one,  when  the  1982  Nobel  Prize  winner  sought  him  out  to  help  him realize  his  idea  of  offering  workshops  for  practical  training  and  the pursuit of excellence in journalism. Before joining the Foundation, he was director-manager of Telecaribe, a regional public television channel in the Colombian Caribbean. Abello has  dedicated  his  professional  life  to  journalism,  communication  and culture.  He  is  a  member  of  boards  of  directors  and  advisory  councils, including the Global Agenda Council on Informed Societies of the World Economic   Forum   in   Davos   in   2010   and   2011,   as   well   as   the representation of Latin America, since 2006, in the board of directors of the  GFMD  (Global  Forum  for  Media  Development),  an  international alliance of leading organizations in support and development programs for journalistic media.
